The Tax Preparer assists with tax preparation programs by recording the tax return information, conducting research to ensure compliance with IRS regulations, and working within team guidelines and procedures to provide outstanding service to all taxpayers. Tax identification numbers obtained from taxpayers for use in IRS systems are validated and reported to the IRS. Taxpayers are provided written notification of their account status. The incumbent is required to deal tactfully with taxpayers who are upset over the audit process or the results of their tax returns. Candidates must have excellent interpersonal communication skills and meet tight deadlines dictated by the seasonality of tax returns.
