The safety of the patients treated with ionizing radiation is our top priority. A Dosimetrist works to ensure this safety by correlating therapeutic and diagnostic radiation treatment plans with laboratory results. He or she is responsible for assisting the physician and other health care professionals in the identification, recognition, and control of potentially radiation related hazards in the delivery of healthcare services. They ensure staff are properly trained in methods and procedures for the safe administration of this radiation therapy. He or she must constantly strive to develop methods for increasing efficiency in the delivery of radiotherapy to meet Schedule 2000 requirements.
