All nuclear medicine procedures and drugs produced by pharmaceutical companies must be approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration before being administered to human beings for diagnostic or therapeutic purposes. Requirements include at least an associate degree from a program accredited by the Joint Review Committee on Nuclear Medicine Technology (JRCNMT).
