A Detention Officer is responsible for the security and safety of inmates and staff that are housed at the facility; monitors, secures, and watches all designated areas of the detention facility; patrols interior and exterior perimeters of the detention facility, including the parking lot, to guard against general misconduct; identifies unusual conditions at the facility that may require corrective action; maintain a daily log of activities and incidents at the facility; participates in all emergency drills as a member of Emergency Response Team (ERT); maintains a high level of physical fitness; performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
