Lansing Optometry Care is looking for an experienced Optician to join our team of professionals and provide exceptional customer service. As an Optician, you will be responsible for ensuring our patients have optimal vision care services and receive the best possible products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Fit, adjust, and adapt lenses and frames for patients
  • Show, explain, and sell eyeglass frames and lenses to patients
  • Recommend eyeglasses based on prescription and lifestyle
  • Assist patients with selecting frames
  • Measure patients’ facial and eye alignment and size of eyeglasses
  • Verify accuracy of eyeglass prescriptions and order eyeglass lenses and frames
  • Perform basic vision testing and file and maintain patient records
  • Maintain stock shelves with eyeglasses, lenses, and other products

Work Hours and Benefits:

The Optician position is full-time and business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. This position also includes health and dental insurance, paid vacation and holidays, and a retirement plan.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Certification as an optician
  • At least 2 years of experience working in an optical shop
  • Knowledge of eye wear, optical products, and customer service
  • Proficiency in optical and vision measurements
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills

Training and Education:

The ideal candidate for this position will have a certification as an Optician. On-the-job training may be provided.
